60-Day Calibration
The mid-quarter conversation where you compare what you expected to do with what you actually do, and renegotiate the rest of the plan.
The 60-day calibration is the single most under-scheduled meeting in onboarding. It is the only point where you have enough information to renegotiate the plan and enough runway to act on the renegotiation before the 90-day review.
Three prompts, traded with your manager: 'what is going better than expected?', 'what is harder than expected?', and 'what do you wish you saw more of from me?'
Mismatches that surface here are easy to recalibrate. The same mismatch raised in the 90-day review is a renegotiation, with all the friction that implies.
